Short Update

Life is really busy right now, and I'm not on LJ a lot anymore. I try to catch up on a few journals now and then, but nothing more.
School is alright and I'm content with my life so far.

I know it's four days too late, but I want to wish reallycorking a very happy belated birthday!! You're a wonderful person and artist and I'm glad to have you in my friends list.

General Update and Photos+ a Meme

I had a silly face phase yesterday. Here are a few results, if you dare to see.

I've been very busy lately, hence the lack of update. School has started again and I have to study and do homework (sometimes). In addition, I work at a jewellery manucfactory two afternoons per week and I babysit a few times per month. So...I didn't have much time for LJ or my friends page. I really have no idea what's going on these days with you. Did anything important happen in your lives, or just something you'd like me to know?
I'll try to be around LJ more often, I have project week next week, so no study or homework! :D

And here's a Meme I did a few days ago, I got tagged by leelakin.

Comment and ask me for a letter. Then go and open your iTunes (or whatever that works for you). Look at the songs that begin with the letter I gave you and pick ten. Post the titles and tell us why you chose them.

I had such a hard time finding ten songs with I, it seems like I have hundreds of songs with every letter except I!

I got the letter I!

1. It's Coming Down by Cake - I love this band, and the song is also great, different and undefinable. They don't fit in any genre, and I like that.
2. I See Red by Clannad - Beautiful Irish music, I found the CD in my mother's CD collection and loved it the first time I listened to it. It's music for lonely evenings, when you're cuddled up on the sofa and reading your favourite book, calm and beautiful. I love the (woman) singer's voice.
3. In My Place by Coldplay - I like Chris Martin's voice and their music always reminds me of two books I read while listening to Coldplay (Middlesex and The Virgin Suicides, both by Jeffrey Eugenides).
4. In The Morning by The Coral - When the morning comes I will be alright... Funny and great song by an English band.
5. I Still Do by The Cranberries - Another Irish band I love. This is such a sad song. :'(
6. In meinem Kopf ist eine Bombe by Früchte des Zorns - This is a song by a German band, it's very political and left-winged. It means "In my head is a bomb" and is about the falseness and self-deception of people who are just interested in themselves and don't care about the bad things that happen because they think it doesn't concern them; people who try to wash their behaviour and doings away with their self-righteous lies. There's always something inside you and it will always scream there loudly. And you try to suffocate this voice, and thereby you just suffocate yourself.... Not music for everyone. By the way, the band's name means "Fruits of Wrath". They work with a violin, drums and guitar and their songs are usually very sad and thought-provoking.
7. I Must Have It by Vince Giordano And The Nighthawks - A song from the OST "Ghost World" (great film!), jazz music from the 20's-30's. Pretty funny xDD
8. I'm Bound To Pack It Up by The White Stripes - I love the melody of this song. I also like the fact their instruments sound like they're 30 years old.
9. I Can't Win by The Strokes - My favourite from the second album. I so love Julian's voice and the kind of dirty sound every Strokes song has.
10. Is It Okay? by Jana Nitsch - This young woman is actually a friend of mine. She's German, plays the accordion wonderfully and her voice is awesome. During the sommer, she often sits somewhere on the street and makes music. She already travelled a lot and met many people she learned new songs from. She also writes some songs herself. Her music is beautiful.
If you'd like to listen to it, drop me a line and I'll send you some per e-mail.

Hello girls,

I just came back from Amsterdam and am very exhausted and tired. It was great there, though, and I think I'll return to this city often in the future.
I have to unpack my things and need a nap, but photos and information will follow soon.
Just wanted to write a little note that I'm back again, I can't wait to read all the entries I missed. =)

P.S.: If you do not know Lemon Demon, you can find them on http://www.lemondemon.com/index2.html, Neil Cicierega is the founder. I guess you all know his sister, Emmy (binsybaby), who draws wonderful. You should check out his music, it's great and funny and sometimes crazy.

Family

My sisters are so cute ♥
And they should dress people's hair for money, you can admire their skills by means of my hair-do :D

The weather was better today, we had just about 25 °C instead of over 30 °C like it was the last days. It was so hot! I couldn't do anything except lying around and drinking water. That's the reason I don't love the summer too much, it's just too hot for my taste. I prefer winter and spring.
On a completely different note, does anybody of you watch Scrubs? Me and my friend are waiting desperately for the fourth season to appear on TV here in Germany. I will even interrupt my absence of anything that has to do with television or cinema for Scrubs. And for Six Feet Under (the series, not the band). I can highly recommend these two! :D

Snow in March

A few weeks ago, we had so much snow in Hamburg, plus, in the middle of March! We usually don't have much snow in the winter here, so everyone was astonished and couldn't believe it. Of course, I went sledging every day, on Sunday with my family, Monday with my best friend (and later with her boyfriend, too), Tuesday with my twelve year old neighbour girl....it was really fun, although I still have many many bruises, because the piste was very hilly. Now all the snow is gone, which I think is a pity, I like the winter...but it shouldn't be.

Anyway, here are a few pictures I took, because I was so amazed of the hamburgish snow.

Our house, we live in the second floor

Our road sign

Me, with a really weird expression

My neighbour girl's bike

The view from my window

Useless stuff

But it was fun to do ^^

I'm really tired because I had eight hours of school yesterday (full hours, not 45 minutes) and seven
today and I couldn't sleep properly last night. The thing is, I can't go to bed right now, there's
homework to do and a biology assignment I have to hand in before eight am tomorrow....the teachers put a
lot of pressure on us because of the exams in april and may; they say our attitude to work is to
be improved and that half of the class won't pass the class. Ah well, I assume they tell every other class
the same things. Of course they're exaggerating, but for some people in my class it could be really very
hard to pass. Anyway, I am going to finish my spanish homework and the biology stuff and then go sleeping.
Good night to everyone!

Trivial

I think I'm okay with this...it's not the best I imagined, but I don't feel like
changing it now. Life is quite easy right now, I've got holidays. My day consists
of sleeping til noon, eating, drinking, cooking with my friend (we're cooking and
baking foreign breakfast food) and reading. I decided to travel nowhere this year,
cause last year I was in Jordan at this time and my mother wants me to celebrate
Easter with my family this year. I love being awake at night, nobody can annoy and
disturb me, I listen to music and read or write...and I love the calmness.
I really enjoy that, and in schooldays it's only possible at the weekend.

And now I will make American pancakes for my little sister, I'll try, at least. But to
my excuse, I just did them ONCE and they were very good, they just looked like...German
pancakes...can't describe the difference, sorry^^
